Summary

Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 70 employees. This review focused on eight operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following three activities: (1) enteral nutrition safety, (2) environment of care, and (3) management of workplace violence. The facility’s reported accomplishments were adopting the principles of the American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Recognition Program® and parterning with the Epilepsy Foundation of Southern Wisconsin to perform veterans outreach in rural Wisconsin communities. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following five activities: (1) physician credentialing and privileging, (2) medication management, (3) registered nurse competencies, (4) QM, and (5) coordination of care.
