Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 133 employees. This review focused on eight operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the coordination of care activity. The facility’s reported accomplishments were developing methods for medication safety for women of child bearing age and creating a variance cost reporting spreadsheet to predict additional services required to meet patient care needs. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following seven activities: (1) environment of care, (2) polytrauma, (3) colorectal cancer screening, (4) medication management, (5) QM, (6) moderate sedation, and (7) Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Centers.
