Summary

Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 306 employees. This review focused on seven operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following three activities: (1) enteral nutrition safety, (2) QM, and (3) registered nurse competencies. The facility’s reported accomplishments were the military honors ceremony upon the death of a veteran in the hospice unit and the development and implementation of a system that has reduced the response time for team assistance in the management of a suicide call. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following four activities: (1) environment of care, (2) continuity of care, (3) management of workplace violence, and (4) physician credentialing and privileging.
