Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 160 employees. This review focused on eight operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the medication management activity. The facility’s reported accomplishment was a reduction in length of stay and days of diversion in the emergency department. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following seven activities: (1) QM, (2) physician credentialing and privileging, (3) registered nurse competencies, (4) environment of care, (5) management of workplace violence, (6) enteral nutrition safety, and (7) coordination of care.
