Combined Assessment Program Review of the Kansas City VA Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri

The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, we provided crime awareness briefings to 146 employees. This review focused on seven operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following two activities (1) medication management (2) QM. We made recommendations for improvements in the following five activities: Physician credentialing and privileging. Coordination of care. Environment of care. Management of multidrug-resistant organisms. Management of test results.
