Combined Assessment Program Review of the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan

The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). This review focused on seven operational activities. The facility reported its Lung Cancer Collaborative as an accomplishment. We made recommendations for improvements in the following seven activities: • Environment of Care. • Physician Credentialing and Privileging. • QM. • Management of Test Results. • Medication Management. • Management of Multidrug-Resistant Organisms. • Coordination of Care.
