Summary

Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 152 employees. This review focused on nine operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the polytrauma activity. The facility’s reported accomplishments were development of a “Code 9” physician alert for suspected lung cancer and a new patient orientation program. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following eight activities: (1) QM, (2) colorectal cancer screening, (3) coordination of care (COC), (4) moderate sedation, (5) medication management, (6) environment of care (EOC), (7) follow-up on COC issues, and (8) follow-up on EOC issues.
