Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, we provided crime awareness briefings to 287 employees. This review focused on eight operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following three activities: (1) continuity of care, (2) medication management, and (3) physician credentialing and privileging. The facility’s reported accomplishments were preventing unnecessary inpatient admissions and readmissions and the receipt of the Gold Cornerstone Award for patient safety. We made recommendations for improvement in the following five activities: Coordination of care. Management of workplace violence. Registered nurse competencies. QM. Environment of care.
