Combined Assessment Program Review of the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System Bay Pines, Florida

The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, we provided crime awareness briefings to 245 employees. This review focused on seven operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following three activities: (1) management of multidrug-resistant organisms, (2) medication management, and (3) physician credentialing and privileging. The facility’s reported accomplishment was the culture change in the community living center. We made recommendations for improvement in the following four activities: QM. Environment of care. Coordination of care. Management of test results.
