Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 68 employees. This review focused on six operational activities. The facility’s reported accomplishment was the receipt of the 2010 Award for Innovation in VA Community Living Centers. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following six activities: (1) physician credentialing and privileging, (2) management of test results, (3) QM, (4) management of multidrug-resistant organisms, (5) coordination of care, and (6) environment of care.
