Combined Assessment Program Review of the Alexandria VA Medical Center Pineville, Louisiana

The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, we also provided crime awareness briefings to 155 employees. This review focused on seven operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following two activities (1) coordination of care and (2) medication management. The facility’s reported accomplishment was its cancer care collaborative. We made recommendations for improvement in the following five activities: QM. Physician credentialing and privileging. Management of test results. Management of multidrug-resistant organisms. Environment of care.
